See LA

So... I really miss things about LA sometimes. I'm always talking about food for one, and second, well... I guess it's just food that I'm always talking about and searching for and dreaming about. I'm obsessed with food blogs now, like Vintage Victuals and Cannelle et Vanille and the recently discovered The Joy of Cooking.

When I get back to LA, I want to go to:

Windows Steaks and Martinis

I remember the first time I went to this place. I was definitely too young to enjoy all the exciting things this restaurant/bar had to offer.

Windows sits pretty on the 32nd floor of the AT&T Center on South Olive Street. The view of LA from the restaurant is spectacular, especially with the glowing city lights at nighttime. 

When I get back to LA I will definitely be visiting again. The following is what I'll have.

Appetizer: Ahi Tuna Tar-Tar with Pasilla Peppers, Jicama, and Guacamole

Soup: Garden Vegetable minestrone with Pesto sauce and croutons

Salad: Caesar

Main: Pan Roasted Chilean Seabass with Israeli Cous-Cous, Manila clams, garlic, and Saffron white wine sauce

Side: I might get a side of grilled asparagus.

Martini: Frenchi - Vodka, Chambord, Pineapple Juice, and Triple Sec

This is the Anaheim White House.

I have never been here, but have heard many good things about this place.

I would have...

Starter: Veal Ossobuco Trussardi - Petite veal shank braised in a cabernet glace with celery, onions, and fresh herbs

Salad: Insalata Caprese Juventus - Sliced Buffalo mozzarella, red onion, and tomatoes in a Modena balsamic vinaigrette with fresh basil

Main: Sand Dabs Dolce Gabbana - Delicate whitefish fillets lightly breaded in a lemon and Italian fresh herb sauce

For a side, I'd have to try the White Chocolat Mashed Potatoes

I also want to visit Edison and have their delicious grilled cheese and tomato soup. I'd also get the mini cupcakes and cookies.

I like the transparency. I imagine it would feel feather light on. I wish it had a sexier slip or a more flattering shape though.

Some cute knickers displaying delicious fruit. I really REALLY need new underwear and bras. I wish there were a Victoria's Secret in Korea. The drying of garments in the sun has wasted away all the elasticity of my undies. Sigh.

Rebecca Taylor has this cute, purple dress. The back is really cute too, with two straps that come down from the shoulders to mid-back to reveal a bit of skin. Looks comfortable with the drawstring waist and simple shape.

These Alexander McQueens are fit for a rockstar princess with the sassy heel and the punky skull zip.

I'm not sure if I'd wear these Giuseppe Zanotti zip up ankle boots but they sure are a trip.

I wish I could create beautiful clothes so I didn't have to sinfully lust after them. Must learn how to use a sewing machine. 

Mmmm...

Summer is definitely here with the buzzing mosquitos and itchy, splotchy, swollen bites. I want to cool down and ice my bites with some refreshing, fizzy lemonade with mint. 

It also wouldn't hurt to have some of these tomato pate feuilletee made by Cannelle et Vanille as a substitute for salt on the rim. 

This is the kind of place where I'd like to enjoy my snacks - in a beautiful treehouse with a bridge and a watch tower located beside a cool creek to dip my feet. I'd invite some friends and tie a rope to an arm of a tree and swing into the water. How fun would that be?

Darn Birds

So about 3 weeks ago, I went to Seoul with Kent. We saw some of his friends, ate some delicious food, walked through Insadong, drank traditional tea, met my dad's friend randomly and received some gracious charity, and went to Chungaechun (the stream where you can dip your feet). We probably did more, but I can't remember. With the lack of sleep I've been getting, my mind has been crippled. :(

I heard that they had birds flying around as you drink tea, so when I went inside and didn't see birds flying around, I asked, "where are the birds," and as I asked, I saw from the corner of my eye that they were in a bird cage at the entrance. Kent thought it was super weird and funny that I would ask that question. 

Yummy lemon tea. Kent had a refreshing, cool pear drink.

My sandwich had so much horseradish sauce that I couldn't finish for fear of permanently losing my sense of smell.

I really don't know how I've managed to stay so tan. It's ridiculous.

One After Another

I just keep making mistakes. I think this has something to do with lack of sleep. Even as I speak, I'm in the middle of making a mistake. I should be sleeping, but instead I can't seem to close my laptop. I need to do what my mind tells me to do more often. 

Something New

Something new has sprouted and is blossoming in my life. To carouse, I went to the botanical gardens to see what Spring had burgeoned. The night before, I sipped coffee on a porch and watched the pouring rain while listening to the pitter patter on the tin roof.

Spring Arrives With Janet and Dad in Tow

So... this post is two months late but here goes...

Janet and Dad came to Korea a while ago, at the beginning of spring.

We visited many different places around Korea within a span of 6 days. I had fun although it was tough work to put a smile on Janet's face.
